Welcome to brown corners!

BROWN CORNERS CHURCH WILL BEGIN INDOOR WORSHIP SERVICES BEGINNING SUNDAY, JUNE 7.

SERVICE TIMES: 9:00 AM AND 10:30 AM

As we prepare to gather back together, here are some steps we have taken and others which we ask you to take to help prevent the potential spread of disease:

  1. We have removed Bibles, hymnals, pens, information cards, etc., from the backs of chairs/pews.
  2. We will not have bulletins or notes to hand out for the time being.
  3. We have temporarily suspended the coffee stations, but feel free to bring your own.
  4. We will not be offering children’s classes, nursery, or Discipleship Communities.
  5. We ask that you refrain from hugs and hand-shaking. I know this is difficult for most of us and are deeply embedded practices within our church culture. We are also going to eliminate the “greeting time” from our church services for the time being.
  6. We will make masks available for those wishing to wear them, however we will not require them at our worship services.
  7. We encourage you to follow proper hand-washing procedures after using the restrooms. We have turned off the drinking fountains for the time being.
  8. Hand sanitizer has been placed throughout the church for your convenience.
  9. We will be roping off every other row of chairs/pews to help encourage social distancing in the sanctuary during worship services. We will alternate rows between service to have a “fresh” set of seats available for the second service.
  10. If you are sick, we ask that you stay and worship from home.
  11. We encourage those who are “at risk” to continue to worship from home.
  12. We still plan to celebrate communion, as is our tradition, on the first Sunday of the month. We will use individual communion cups/wafers for the foreseeable future.
  13. We will set up groups of chairs in the fellowship hall for those wishing to come a little early or stay after the service and visit.
  14. Parents, we welcome you and your children. For those bringing children into the sanctuary to worship with you: we love it! We want you there and know that their restlessness will not bother the rest of us. However, we understand that many will choose to stay home. That’s totally ok. We understand. But please know, you are welcome. We are in the process of trying to set up the fellowship hall with a live stream for those who wish to have a place where children have a little more freedom to move around.

Romans 12:10 tells us to “outdo one another in showing honor.” One of the ways in which we can do so is to show respect for those who have a different perspective than you about the seriousness of this virus. Let us continue to demonstrate love and a spirit of unity as we navigate our return to Sunday gatherings.
